Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough, culturally sensitive mental health assessments, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of each patient's unique experiences and backgrounds.
- Design and implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to meet the individual needs of patients, always considering their cultural and personal contexts.
- Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions that address a range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and relational issues.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams comprising psychiatrists, psychologists, and other health professionals to ensure a unified approach to patient care.
- Provide crucial crisis intervention support, helping patients manage mental health emergencies with compassion and expertise.
- Educate clients and their families on mental health conditions, treatment methods, and local resources, empowering them to make informed decisions about their care.
- Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation of patient progress, treatment plans, and therapeutic interventions in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
- Actively engage in regular case conferences, team meetings, and cultural competency training sessions to enhance team collaboration and individual skill set.
- Stay informed about developments in mental health research and best practices, integrating new knowledge into therapeutic offerings.
Patient Population / Client Focus
You will work primarily with clients from diverse backgrounds, including ethnic minorities, LGBTQ+ individuals, and immigrants. Your work will have a significant impact on their healing journeys, ensuring that therapeutic techniques are informed by cultural sensitivity and inclusivity.
Qualifications
- A master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
- Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, or LICSW in the state of Massachusetts.
- A strong foundation in understanding mental health disorders, along with proficiency in evidence-based treatment approaches.
- Experience delivering culturally responsive individual and group therapy, demonstrating an understanding of the nuances involved in working with diverse populations.
- Exceptional crisis intervention skills, maintaining calm in challenging situations to provide effective support.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to build trust and rapport with clients from varied backgrounds.
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and relevant computer applications, ensuring efficient documentation and access to patient data.
- A commitment to adhering to professional boundaries and ethical guidelines, ensuring the confidentiality and trust of your patients.
- The capacity to collaborate effectively and work cohesively as part of a multidisciplinary team committed to integrated care.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working within community health settings or multicultural environments will be highly advantageous.
- Familiarity with best practices in mental health therapy and current trends in community health care is preferred.
- Previous roles that involved crisis management and direct therapeutic intervention are highly regarded.
Compensation and Benefits
This rewarding position offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 70,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
