Work Environment
This full-time position operates in a remote telehealth setting, enabling our therapists to offer flexible and accessible services to patients from the comfort of their own homes. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough, culturally aware mental health assessments to identify unique patient experiences and inform customized treatment plans.
- Implement evidence-based therapeutic strategies, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness practices, tailored to fit the individual needs and cultural contexts of patients.
- Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions, fostering an environment where clients can express their concerns and develop resilience.
- Collaborate closely with other mental health professionals, including psychiatrists and psychologists, to ensure cohesive and well-rounded patient care.
- Provide crisis intervention support in emergency situations, ensuring patient safety and effective management of mental health crises.
- Educate patients and their families about mental health challenges, available treatment options, and community resources to support their wellness journey.
- Maintain diligent and confidential documentation according to legal and ethical standards, ensuring secure patient information management.
- Participate actively in case conferences, team collaboration meetings, and ongoing training in cultural competency to enhance service delivery.
- Stay updated with current research and advocacy efforts in mental health, continually integrating best practices into your therapeutic approach.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Your work will primarily focus on a diverse group of patients, including but not limited to individuals from multicultural backgrounds, LGBTQ+ clients, and immigrants adjusting to new environments. By employing culturally sensitive therapeutic techniques, you will be instrumental in helping patients navigate their multicultural experiences and unique mental health challenges. This role is pivotal in addressing the social determinants of health that may affect their mental wellness.
Qualifications
- A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
- Current and valid licensure as an LCMFT, LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW-C in the state of Maryland.
- In-depth understanding of various mental health disorders and the utilization of evidence-based treatment methods.
- Exceptional skills in delivering culturally aware individual and group therapy, with a history of positive patient outcomes.
- A calm and compassionate approach during crisis situations, showcasing strong crisis intervention skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills that foster trusting relationships with a diverse clientele.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems and telehealth platforms, demonstrating proficiency in digital counseling techniques.
- Commitment to upholding professional ethics, confidentiality principles, and boundaries in therapeutic settings.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of professionals, valuing input from diverse perspectives.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working with marginalized communities and a demonstrated commitment to cultural competency in therapy.
- Knowledge of local community resources and support networks to enhance patient referrals and holistic care.
- Prior involvement in research or initiatives advocating for mental health awareness within diverse populations.
Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary ranging from $70,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
