Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments to evaluate the mental health needs of students, ensuring to create individualized treatment plans that target specific issues.
Implement solution-focused therapeutic interventions during school hours, utilizing evidence-based practices to address challenges faced by students.
Maintain accurate, confidential, and timely clinical records, integrating your findings into school mental health initiatives.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary treatment team comprising educators, parents, and other mental health professionals to coordinate care and enrich student support.
Provide educational workshops and resources for parents and school staff, fostering a community approach towards mental health awareness and support.
Stay informed about the latest mental health research and advancements to enhance your therapeutic approaches and provide the best care.
Patient Population / Client Focus
You will primarily be engaging with diverse students and their families, addressing various mental health challenges including anxiety, depression, behavioral issues, and more. Your role is crucial in helping children develop coping strategies and resilience, which contribute significantly to their overall success both academically and personally.
Qualifications
A master's degree in social work from an accredited institution is required.
Must possess a valid LCSW-C license in the state of Maryland.
Strong knowledge and experience in solution-focused psychotherapy interventions is essential.
Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills to effectively support students and their families.
Preferred Experience
A minimum of two years of clinical experience in mental health services, specifically within educational settings, is preferred.
